Herbal Stop Smoking Products: The Availability of Herbal Stop Smoking Products
There are all kinds of herbal stop smoking products available in Herbal and Homeopathic Pharmacies, in herbal smokes shops - both traditional and online shops. The herbs might possibly be found in health food or nutrition stores both in on and offline stores.
Herbal cigarettes are a popular alternative to tobacco. The herbs or herb blends are rolled into special papers and smoked like a regular cigarette. They ease the cravings during withdrawal and they help to ease the symptoms of withdrawal - namely dizziness, nausea, and headaches. They may also serve to ease the oral fixation (the need to have something in your mouth) or to keep the motion associated with the repetitive action of bringing the cigarette to and from the mouth.
A word of caution must be mentioned here. As with any inhaled substance, irritation of the lungs can occur. Tar like substances, even with herbs, can build up in the lungs. This would put an individual at risk for health problems similar to those with tobacco smoke. The only thing that might make a difference with herbal smokes is that it is possible that using them will no longer become necessary once the nicotine addiction is conquered.
Herbal Chews - All Mint Chews/ Pouches are another option. These, while similar to chewing tobacco pose no serious health risk to those who choose to use it (them). They are used in the same way as chewing tobacco. They are placed between the gums and teeth and chewed. The difference with the herbs is that the resulting juices can safely be swallowed and if desired the pouch can be eaten. The all mint chews are sugar and sodium free and reportedly recommended for use by dentists. The added advantage to the chews/pouches is that your breath will be fresher.
Herbal Lozenges/Gums are chewed on or sucked for a period of time. They help to relieve withdrawal from tobacco symptoms and ease cravings. They are a safe alternative to tobacco and are pleasant tasting.
Herbal Inhalers/Mouth Sprays are used as well. There are two types of herbal inhalers available: the traditional oral inhaler and for lack of a better description, the sniffed inhaler where you hold it close to your nose and simply smell the product. The herbs are quickly released into the blood stream and work quicker to ease withdrawal.
As always, please consult your physician before adding any type of supplement to your health regimen. You really want to be sure it is safe for you. Do the research and make an informed decision.
